Last winter, our house team worked their socks off, with the highly valued help of our volunteers, which ensured objects were checked and condition reports filled;

fireplaces, fenders and their implements were polished;

carpets were cleaned;

and much more.

However, owing to the new opening hours, which have come into effect this season, leading to more of the house being open all week, this year’s Winter Clean will be a little different.  The team has decided to do more Conservation in Action days during the open season to allow our visitors to gain a deeper understanding about the conservation work that goes on in the house and in particular, during the Winter Clean.  This means there will be more opportunities to come and see how the house team look after Osterley House and its beautiful collection.

We hope you’ll enjoy reading in future posts (and maybe viewing in person) about the work carried out on these days.
